The SOS in the car, which antenna does that use?

The one in the back or is there one in the front?

The reason I ask is because I want to install a better 4g router in my car and I wonder if I can somehow access the external antenna.

Ah, OK. I wouldn't tinker with the existing one for the SOS system as you won't be able to have two units connected to the one antenna.

There are a number of different types of suitable external antenna for use on a vehicle, depending on whether you want to drill a hole in the bodywork or not.

I don't want to drill a hole, so if the rear antenna is capable of 4g, I'd rather use that.

If you start feeding a transceiver into the entertainment radio receiver antenna then that isn't going to go very well. I would suggest keeping things separate and using one of the many available stick-inside-a-rear-side-window antennas.
