How can I stop this and has this happened to other users?

I'm as enthusiastic about ads slurping my data allowance as I am of - say - having a card from the post office telling me to collect and pay for a letter, only for it to turn out to be marketing or being asked to accept a reverse charge call, ditto.

Unfortunately it seems to be a way of life these days.

The one at the top is annoying because it's so big and pushes all the content down the page.

I'm on numerous other forums with ads but none are this annoying in forcing you to scroll down.
