Only if they've been charged a lot on rapids, thermal management isn't an issue when charging on AC at home.

Don't know much about the Dolphin... I will take a look. Interior is important and that's one area where the pre-2026 MG4 isn't brilliant.

You'll have plenty of spares if you ever need them .... I'd love to buy the Golf diesel if you weren't so far away, they were a great plodder ....I'd really prefer to experience something different... but it is possible you'll be right!
Older or maybe higher mileage depending on how many miles you are going to add. The battery warranty is for 100,000 miles or 8 years, btw.
We looked into those too. FWIW, we decided against them for 3 reasons. 1) The Niro and, IIRC, Kona too are based on ICE vehicles and available as hybrids, so you miss out on the pure EV design aspects - i.e. floorpan / interior space / bonnet length are all compromised because they have to fit those funny mechanical engines in there too. 2) Kia & Hyundai had compromised security systems that could (relatively) easily be overcome by brute force attack (see my posting below on that) which resulted in higher insurance premiums than expected for the vehicle's performance and 3) the Niro (not sure about) Kona has a weakness with the final drive transmission suffering from premature wear unless proactive (i.e. beyond normal servicing requirement) oil changes were performed.

It is quirky don't get me wrong; but quality of materials and overall kit is better than the old MG4.
Be thorough when you look at the Stellantis cars. The Vauxhalls are troublesome as are the Citroen EVs. Neighbour had a Moka EV which spent weeks & weeks at the dealers being fixed but it never was. He got rid & bought a Ford Explorer EV. The Citroens seem to get 'teething' troubles over & over again too. The quality doesn't seem to be there. My MG dealer sells Peugeot & Citroen too. So far they are not very impressed with any of these other EV's. Apparently they come back with issues far to often. That's in direct contrast to MG. Surprising some might say.
