I have been quoted £22578 for the new Long Range MG4. I paid £33k for my Trophy 3 years ago!

To qualify for the MG Affinity scheme you need to fall into one of these categories. (Note MG Owners Club members need to have held membership for 3 months to qualify. Membership is £53 for the first year).

Local / Central Government Staff applies to current employees and also those who have retired but draw a government pension, in addition it can be used by specified relatives of those who qualify for the scheme:

Affinity Family Referral Tree:

• Allowed:

o Mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, including step-relations.

o Spouse/partner, Yes, as long as the driver’s licences are showing the same address.

• Not Allowed:

o In-law relations, grandparents, cousins, and all other relationships not listed above.

Not sure of the other categories but worth checking them out.

If you can't qualify through any of the others the MG Owners Club is a no brainer if your considering an MG and can wait for 3 months, be aware though that would be when you place the order, not when the car would arrive.

Think you'll find some MG dealers, will give you Affinity price, even if you don't qualify. There's always a way around it.
A sales a sale, for the dealer. They won't be losing out. Plus these days you can probably find a deal, actually cheaper than Affinity.

Fair point on the cheaper than Affinity comment, however having made use of Affinity for our S6 we had to provide the dealer with the required documentation to show we qualified and that had to be scanned and submitted to the MG portal for approval before we could go ahead. Dealer was telling me that while they get full credit for a vehicle sale against their targets they only get a handling fee from MG not the full margin they would get for a non Affinity sale.

Agree, some dealers wouldn't even try.
But some would, don't know how they do it. Plus hopefully if they are a half decent dealer. They'll get your servicing custom.
And possibly another MG sale, down the line. And even a recommendation sale..
Some dealers might be thinking beyond the original sale.
