If I hold down the voice button in my ZS EV LS Trophy for a second or two, it goes to Android Auto. I then only appear to be able to say one thing, and then it appears to time out.
So if I say "Text wife", it gets that, then the phone feeds back what's your message, and the voice doesn't appear to get back to the phone.
Just me?

I have the Connect version 2022. Phone is connected through Motorola Ma1 wirelessly. I can call and send texts and WhatsApp messages using the voice control same way as you.
I don't have these issues fortunately.
Perhaps deleting Bluetooth & re-pairing would help?

Likely to be your phone, the car just connects to the phone android and lets it do its thing ...

now, one obvious question: you have your wife saved in your contacts as "wife" ?

I might try a wireless connection then incase that helps.

I get he same thing, 2024 Trophy Connect and Samsung S24. Whatever I say it doesn't seem to hear me so given up trying. The MG voice commands for non-AA are pretty useless too. They work about 20% of the time, so I don't bother trying with those either any more. My Google home devices and standalone phone get it right more like 95%.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have the same problem.

I'm afraid not. I strangely did find it better just saying 'Hey Google' rather than pressing the speak button. So 'Hey Google, navigate to Winchester train station' for instance seems to work ok when plugged in and using AA.

I agree Chris. I do the same thing. Purely use Android Auto and 'hey google' voice commands. Works well unless approaching a turning when AA maps talks over me or herself & have to start again 😀😂

I've also found it easier for navigation to 'star' chargepoints & places i want to go in advance, so always there.
Then before setting off simply click on it, 'directions' 'Go', BEFORE plugging in, press AA on screen and away i go.
Works for me.
