Android Auto Problems with the MG S5

So, I have been using Android Auto with my new MGS5 and about 80% of the time, it does not work. It gives an 'oops, something went wrong' error. It works at times and I have tried everything from reinstalling android auto to deleting the cache but nothing seems to fix the issue. I could not find a relevant thread for this post and if there is one, the mods could move it there. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry, I should have specified. This is a Honor 50 android phone connected wirelessly.

I get what you're saying and it's worth a go but these things should work

It does work for a lot of people but there are so many different phones... If you can show it doesn't work with other phones, or maybe you can get one of those wireless AA dongles and just plug it in to the usb port. That fixes it for some people.

Which infotainment software version have you got in the car? I believe the latest ends with R25

I did try to connect my phone through the USB but it still returns the same error. The funny thing is that it does work occasionally. My car is just a month old so I am pretty sure the infotainment software version would be the latest.

Can you try a different make of phone?

There seems to be quite a few people on Reddit and elsewhere having problems with Honor phones and Android Auto.

Yes, I really should. The Honor 50 is a bit crap tbh. Cannot wait to replace it.

When I've had issues with AA in the past on my pixel I've uninstalled AA from the phone and let it re update and that fixed the problem for me. Although it is a pain in arris to do.

Yep, tried doing that too without luck. Perhaps this is a sign from above that I need a new phone
