Android Auto VS Carplay.

Recently got an android phone, is it just my imagination or does AA look worse than carplay on the preface lift 5's screen, just looks like the resolution is rather low.

Tried with a cable just in case it was the wireless dongle but it's the same wired,

It felt like there was more UI junk around making it harder to see the map when using Google Maps vs iOS. (I was also using gmaps on Ios)

Hmm searching seems to suggest if I disable quick media controls then I can make the taskbar come up at the side instead of the bottom, this might help somewhat so I'll look for that setting next time I'm in the car.

Not sure l can help with your problem but did you say you have a wireless dongle in your car? And if so - which one? Would an old Chromecast do the trick?

Nope you need a wireless carplay/aa dongle.

Loads of them on Amazon marketplace or AliExpress.etc

I found a rather generic basic looking one that does just AA/carplay (so not the full android AI boxes) worked most reliably

Get rid of the task bar altogether and just have your map full screen? That's how I normally use AA.
