Anyone wash their car today? ?

When I was a student in the 80's where I lodged during term time the guy downstairs from us had a Ford Cortina Mk 3 in metallic light blue. In those days they were a single coat metallic without lacquer. It had started to go dull on some parts of the paintwork, so I kid you not, he used a brillo pad all over it to make all panels equally dull. I remember how sad it now looked and all the blue residue around the car on the floor after it had been rinsed.

Wonder how it’s doing now 🤔

Now you pay extra for that sort of Matt finish. Least his was free. 😉🙂👍

Agreed, better still if it was Orange.🤪

Just ordered the quick release nozzle set and the zero force 4 gun for mine, mine's a p57 and has zero force 3 gun.
Bit of a sucker with AVA stuff at moment.

Just collected this:

Really nice design and quality, typical of AVA and no need for the adapter required for my current bottle.

Got that myself it is a brilliant foam cannon, hidden tip where the pickup tube is there is a thread if you wanted to screw a product bottle straight on rather than use cups.
Also the ridges in the bottom of cups are measure points for small amounts of product.

Just had a look, got to admit it’s got some brilliant features which are not mentioned anywhere I can see, love them.

While I was there I did a bit of a service to the hose gun.

Just tried this Rinseless shampoo from Halfords.

Absolutely impressed.
The water where I am is extremely hard and I have the issue of chalky residue and always struggle with drying the car and still get chalky spots on the glass.

But this stuff really softens the water. I only used 15ml for a 10 litre bucket which is less than recommended and it's still really decent..

I did dry the car with a microfibre but left some places to air dry just to see. No residue at all.

Going to order some more bottles to get home delivered as it's on offer.

Hmm interesting I looked at that rinse less shampoo myself, I got their standard shampoo from same range and again I am impressed with it.
15ml to 10 litres sounds a little for a rinse less shampoo , they are normally up around 50ml to 10 litres at least the two I have are, Koch chemie RRW and Gyeon Eco wash.

Yes it says on the bottle 25-50ml. But I just wanted to try a little bit out and see what it did to the water softness. To be fair I often find many products do over state the concentration a little. I usually start low dilution and can add a bit more next few washes to try find my preferred amount.

Still waiting for the Ava quick release nozzle set to arrive, due tomoz.

Got the Zero force 4 gun today and Karcher adaptor, so I will now use my Ava zero force 3 gun on my K4 compact.

I have a Karcher adapter which came bundled with my Ava when I got it, but it's only now I see that picture I can work out how it's used. :)
