Archev's adventures in the Berlingo

Arrived in Arnold Clarke Citroen in Stirling this morning just in time for the fire alarm to empty the place completely- I never touched anything honestly.
Finally bought the little clips for the tailgate inner panel. I enquired about a spare wheel and ended up ordering the wheel, the jack and wheelbrace etc and also the carrier frame which fits under the back of the car to lug it all around the countryside.
Met a VW id3 police car on the A84 alongside Loch Lubnaig absolutely flying with siren and the blues doing overtime - was that you ? 🤣🤣
Must have been a big shout nearer Stirling as I subsequently passed four more police vehicles doing the same.

Whilst in Arnold Clark's place I noticed an old friend - my MG5 “Magnette“ is still on their forecourt. Someone could get a fair bargain there I think- they’ve already lowered the price once.

Don't know if the 'lingo still has the same basic design as the BX I used to have, but you used to be able to get an anti-theft kit to stop scrotes dropping down the cage and having away with your spare wheel.

She's a nice car, I thought someone would have snapped her up. Not everyone cares about VtL and so on.

Gosh it’s so peaceful here. I’ve just got into my sleeping bag. I had a bit of hassle when I booked in - they don’t allow children- it’s adults only and it took a bit of persuasion since I hadn’t brought my birth certificate 😍
The only sound I’m hearing just now is an owl somewhere down in the glen. I think I might head to Kyles of Lochalsh tomorrow and top up the car battery for a push over into Applesquash for a night.

I'm getting jealous here. All these lovely sunny days, but also a May engagement calendar with a bit too much on it. Also, an east wind showing for all the lovely weather, leading to cold nights. (I got an icy roads warning on my way home on Saturday evening.) I remember waking up to 8°C that September morning above Little Loch Broom and thinking, if I stay here in my nice warm sleeping bag in my nice warm car, how long before it gets a bit warmer outside?

Granted 8 degrees around 06:00 for tomorrow but steadily pulling up to 22 degrees by 13:00. I’ll take that knowing the shower block heater is chucking out a very fine line in toastyness just fifty metres from this grassy glade in which I recline.
I’m beginning to wish I’d packed the blunderbuss after all, that bloody owl was grand to begin with !!

Don’t you good people go fretting about me stuck out here on this cold, lonely Scottish hillside. I’m as warm as can be and it’s all down to my master plan.
I brought my electric blanket and a quartz electric heater.

Saturday, about 11 o'clock, 3°C.

It's fine in the car (assuming you have a high SOC and electrons to burn and if you haven't, go home now) but you have to get out to get dressed and get washed (in that order thank-you-very-much) and get breakfast. Not so toasty. I see camper vans around, but you don't have to get out of these if you don't want to.

It’s almost the witching hour and its 11 degrees here and even better in this sleeping bag and I haven’t used my power bank yet other than make a hot chocolate to wash my sticky toffee cookie thing down and that only used about 3% of the bank’s power. The solar panels will sort that out in jig time IF the sky’s clear in the morning. Just had a look and it’s wall to wall with the golden ball allegedly for tomorrow = happy bloke.
