Heavily swanundated up ahead

Linlithgow Loch.
Here's the aussie version of swanundation.

The Berlingo has escaped and heading in a southerly direction for a change.
I’ve had a very fine run to the area between Skipton and Bradford. I’ve found a grand campsite on the banks of the river Aire near Cononley.
The reason for my trip is to assess a tailgate tent for the Citroen :-
it looks good in the picture and the seller has the same car, the same colour but with the wrong power type.

And a bit of field covered in blue Berlingo in lieu of the Bonny blue skies in Applecross last time out.

No the Tesco run wasn’t very exciting this week. I set off to go to Lanark or maybe Dundee for a change of scenery with my groceries but ended up in Queensferry on the southern bank of the river Forth.
Even then my excitement was severely curtailed as they did not have any liver. Typical when I had a craving and two onions in stock ready for it 🤣
The Citroen did a taxi run to Livingston so that my neighbour could finally get his banking on line.
Then I almost conveyed the same bloke to get him a chest of drawers. He ordered it on line instead so as a penance I had to assemble the flat pack for him - no I don’t know how that worked either.

@Archev You are in my local hunting ground now. :) If the weather is good there is a nice pub The Red Lion for sitting outside by the river in Burnsall. Or the Craven Arms in Appletreewick (no river here). Neither are cheap though as if anywhere in the Dales is :ROFLMAO: The other way pop along to the Bingley five rise locks while you are in that area, it has a little cafe at the top on the towpath. Not as spectacular as the 'wheel' but interesting anyway as the steepest staircase locks, on the longest canal in the country.

It’s lovely countryside but what’s this crashing down from up on high to soak me and Berlingo? We’ve not seen any of this for weeks ! Still I suppose it helps keep the ground such fine shades of green.
I came over to Colne for a bit of a charge. The wee back roads are terrific over the rolling landscape.
The only disappointment was seeing all those fabulous dry stone dykes without a modern day Compo or Cleggie sitting astride or falling off them or charging towards me on a bike or mechanised bathtub or suchlike.
So we’re guzzling power at a hearty 287 mph. I’ll let that continue for 15 mins or so by which time I’ll have 80% to go and play with. Depending on the rate of precipitation I might go for a coffee at your cafe on the canal. Not too sure about etiquette required to navigate locks by Citroen but hey there’s tons of fresh water up in them clouds to top up the canal 😂

Sorry folks I collected the awning I had gone down to collect but never made it to the cafe on the locks (which was just a mile from the awning collection point). I turned tail and ran away from the adventure and drove straight home arriving with the GOM’s faith draining away rapidly.
It was raining a lot of the way up to Gretna where I took on just enough charge to get home. The rain only dampened things a bit, I was feeling down about other issues and beautiful though the whole Yorkshire area is I just couldn’t reconcile everything. My darling late wife and I were never in that area and it’s 57 years ago this evening that we met, we were inseparable and I just felt I was in the wrong place and had to get back to known territory.
I’ll try to keep the adventures going if anyone’s interested but bear with me for now please.

Apologies for the rain, we've not had any for two months. But on the upside maybe I can put that garden watering hose away for a while. (Water butts getting low !)
