Here's the aussie version of swanundation.
Love those black swans
The swans are ok, but I wouldn't want all those gulls shittin' in mi boat.![]()

@Archev You are in my local hunting ground now.The Berlingo has escaped and heading in a southerly direction for a change.
I’ve had a very fine run to the area between Skipton and Bradford. I’ve found a grand campsite on the banks of the river Aire near Cononley.
The reason for my trip is to assess a tailgate tent for the Citroen :-
it looks good in the picture and the seller has the same car, the same colour but with the wrong power type. View attachment 37093

And a bit of field covered in blue Berlingo in lieu of the Bonny blue skies in Applecross last time out.
It’s lovely countryside but what’s this crashing down from up on high to soak me and Berlingo? We’ve not seen any of this for weeks ! Still I suppose it helps keep the ground such fine shades of green.@Archev You are in my local hunting ground now.If the weather is good there is a nice pub The Red Lion for sitting outside by the river in Burnsall. Or the Craven Arms in Appletreewick (no river here). Neither are cheap though as if anywhere in the Dales is
The other way pop along to the Bingley five rise locks while you are in that area, it has a little cafe at the top on the towpath. Not as spectacular as the 'wheel' but interesting anyway as the steepest staircase locks, on the longest canal in the country.
Apologies for the rain, we've not had any for two months. But on the upside maybe I can put that garden watering hose away for a while. I came over to Colne for a bit of a charge. The wee back roads are terrific over the rolling landscape.
The only disappointment was seeing all those fabulous dry stone dykes without a modern day Compo or Cleggie sitting astride or falling off them or charging towards me on a bike or mechanised bathtub or suchlike.
So we’re guzzling power at a hearty 287 mph. I’ll let that continue for 15 mins or so by which time I’ll have 80% to go and play with. Depending on the rate of precipitation I might go for a coffee at your cafe on the canal. Not too sure about etiquette required to navigate locks by Citroen but hey there’s tons of fresh water up in them clouds to top up the canal![]()
