Preparing for another escape with Berlingo. I addressed a couple of things yesterday. I bought a bug zapper/ lantern to hang in the awning and a wee groundsheet for the same. The inner bedroom has a sewn in groundsheet but not the main area.
My induction hob is absolutely fantastic for cooking and boiling water etc. the only problem I’ve had with it has been levelling it either in the car or outside on the camp table. I’ve had to resort to packing it up to keep the pot or kettle from slowly but serenely gliding off the heating area. Then there’s the possibility for that movement to scratch the glass surface.
So yesterday as I wandered through Tesco I found silicon liners for air fryers. I bought one of the small circular cake tin size ones and it’s perfect. The pan or kettle can sit in it and the heat transfer if anything is quicker. That’s possibly due to the sidewall holding the heat a wee bit better? The main advantage, however, is that the silicon surface doesn’t allow the metal pot to slide across the glass. Problem solved, my porridge pot isn’t in danger of landing at, or worse, on my feet. This latter should eradicate any screeching and howling in the glens due to my out of tune food preparation
