I wish to report that the beautiful island of Arran has been either stolen or it has sunk !
I’m sitting in the Berlingo, in the rain, on Ayr beach car park and there’s no sign of that lovely island nor its mountains.

A good run through to Ayr today. A bit of traffic through Glasgow on the M80 / M77 but no great holdup.
I set off on 149 miles range showing. It’s 70 miles through here. I called in at Arnold Clarke’s BYD garage in Prestwick and topped back up to160 miles range whilst I used the facilities and enjoyed a fine Americano coffee and shortbread. awaiting confirmation charge 55 p/unit and I used my Electroverse card to get a bit of discount. The card and charger worked very well together to make it a fuss free stop with shorty and coffee benefits.
So I’m fuelled and ready for another adventure taking a friend to Crosshouse hospital for a 09:00 appointment in the morning.
Oh - and the car now reports 3.2 mi/kWh so that’s taken five hundred and a few miles to claw its way up towards its pre service 3.7. I don’t suppose I’ll get much more until the weather gets warmer.

As a Millport person at one remove, I can tell you that if you can see Goatfell clearly it's going to rain, and if you can't, it's raining.

Checked again yesterday and today during walks along beautiful Ayr beach but Arran was definitely not there. Lovely blue bits of sky and a bit breezy but the cloud cover stubbornly stayed put where that grand island aught to have been. The legendary Warrior was nowhere to be seen.
The Heads of Ayr and Ayr harbour entrance were clearly visible at either end but nothing across the water.
Berlingo had 76 miles of range reported today and Waze said 70 miles to home. I stopped in Prestwick for 13 minutes / 6.26 kW of power at an Arnold Clarke charger costing £3.44. My thinking was that any traffic or detour might leave me with problems. I needn’t have worried as I arrived home with 21% showing and 29 miles reportedly available. I have the Ohme plugged in now and all being well by 05:30 tomorrow I’ll have 81% of the battery raring to go having cost £2.84.
I know Arnolds cost £0.55 against Octopuses at £0.07 but diesel for one of my previous semi auto Berlingos I recon would have cost around £21+ for the same run and a bit more for adblue and a lot more for servicing and clutch wear etc. not to mention the fact that I recon I hardly used the brake pedal for more than the last two or three mph at traffic light stops etc. The regen braking took excellent care of all the other slowing be it on the motorways or in town traffic.

Note - I know I said semi auto Berlingo’s and then mentioned clutches but I believe those Citroens use a clutch system instead of a torque converter.
I did find the system worked perfectly but the ev system is just much more perfecter

That reminds me of my youngest lad's shirt what I got for him. He never dared wear it at his grammar school... He absolutely loves his rugby and on the front of his shirt it says:
