Authoritative and Interesting Info re EV Fires

What this article seems to be saying is fire crews have not been trained properly to tackle EV fires and using water to put them out is the wrong approach. That would suggest is better training is required and different methods should be used.

And if anyone wanted to analyse the stats the Government have a data set for all vehicle fires with comprehensive information...

Also found this site with info on all vehicle fires in the US between 1980 and 2021

Thanks for the info on incidence and prevalence. Much appreciated.

This podcast from yesterday is brilliant, featuring the alway-fantastic Euan McTurk.

He says that, tackled properly, EV battery fires can be extinguished more quickly than ICE fires. He also tells of a house fire which started with something else but which involved an EV (presumably in an integral garage). The entire house burned down around the car, but the battery didn't ignite.
