Auto HVAC problem

Hi all,
I've got a 22 plate Exclusive and I am having problems with the HVAC in Auto.
When I put the HVAC in Auto the fan come on full bars and doesn't seem to adjust when temperature is reached.
The air con seems to constantly fight the heater so it's blowing hot and cold at the same time.
On previous ICE cars when you turn the temperature up in auto the air con drops or goes off all together.
Has anyone noticed if the bars on your fan speed indicator drops and does the fan slow down?
Is it a common fault or something to report back to the dealer.
Would appreciate your thoughts.

It is not a common fault, but not unknown.
Daft to ask but going to anyway, ..have you tried turning the AC off when using the heater, or the temp right down when you want cooling to see what happens.
