Automatic rear lights?

Hello,

Where I live, the rear lights must be on regardless of how light it it outside. Does anyone know if there is a way to configure this in the auto-mode - so that also the rear lights are lit when the car starts?

Or do I need to sell the car?

Do you have to have the fronts on all the time as well?

If yes, just leave the lights on all the time. If no contact the dealer

Is it a car that was purchased in your country? If so I would have thought it needed to comply with the country regs. On the uk version there is no way to my knowledge to automatically have the rear lights on all the time. You can of course switch them on manually on each journey.

Thanks for reply. However, I don't think that will work, since the lights are not shut off when I turn off the car... I will check with the dealer.

Dont worry, i am also from Sweden and it's fully legal with how the MG is set up:

"Vid färd på väg med ett fordon ska lyktor och strålkastare som är föreskrivna för fordonet vara tända. Om föreskrivna varsellyktor används på en bil under dagsljus, behöver inte lyktor baktill eller på sidan vara tända. Det innebär att det finns bilar där bakljuset inte tänds samtidigt med varsellyktor. Detta är tillåtet att köra med under dagtid. Men om du kör en sådan bil, måste du försäkra dig om att halvljuset och lyktor baktill och på sidan tänds under följande omständigheter:

• mörker
• gryning
• skymning
• när vädret är dåligt (till exempel i regn, dimma, snöfall).

Observera att belysningen kan behöva tändas manuellt."

Aha, cool, did not know that! But, I noticed this yesterday, and then the rain was pouring down - and still no rear lights... will check this out more, but thanks for info.

Turning on/off lights manually in a newly bought car is not gonna happen. If that is the final workaround, this car is going to be driven into a lake! haha

Haha i think that one applies to most new cars with the auto light function.
In low light or bad Weather it's the drivers responsibility to make sure the lights are on if needed, hence why they wrote that. ( Saxat från transportstyrelsen)

I think My MG has behaved pretty well, all lights on in tunnels and in low light. But i'll pay attention in rainy Weather!
