Battery Heater

I thought the battery heater function was for speeding up a charge particularly in cold weather or when the motor is cold but I would be interested to know if anyone uses it when driving, particularly now the weather has turned colder?
If so, what affect does it have on range?

I suspect not many if anyone has. It would have only one effect when driving, i.e use up electrons.

Designed so if you are intending to carry out a D/C rapid charge on route, then pre warming the HV battery prior, allows the car to receive a higher rate of charge from the rapid unit.
But using the battery heater will eat into your remaining range !.

Well it really depends on the situation. With the test that I have posted of Bjorn Nyland he does not see any behavioral change in the car battery temperature at around 6 degrees when he did his 1000km challenge attempt. It would be interesting to know when this feature is triggered.
