Is there a way of calculating the precise position for fixing beam deflectors for EU driving or is it a case of trial and error?

This topic made me pop into Halfords this afternoon to check. The MG eHS manual says for continental driving "visit the dealer", but if the dealer changes any settings does that make your car illegal to drive to the UK port?
Halfords sell beam deflectors that fit "any car", but the details of how to cut them are sealed inside the packet. I therefore checked at the parts desk and after five minutes of searching the answer came that there was no data on their system. So no nearer.
My own personal view is that the beam is very flat topped with only a slight kick up on the left. After a total of four weeks of driving in France, without having been flashed once, I've decided to wait until the car is serviced in January to enquire of the dealer what they have to do.
In all my previous Insignias with LED headlights there was a lighting tab in the infotainment system that allowed me to switch the lights from right hand driving to left hand driving. This facility is not available in the MG, but may be available to dealers.

I used the standard set from Halfords. The placement diagrams inside the kit are very precise and easy to follow. You only need the circular portion of the deflectors so have to trim off the 'tear drop' bit. I assume they worked ok as no-one seemed to complain about our headlights during a fortnight's drive around NW Europe.
