The VCU has been mentioned in several threads* recently and that there is an update for it. There are hopes this update will cure all ills.
I hadn't got a clue what it was so looked it up and if anyone else is the same boat (or EV) then basically it is the Vehicle Control Unit that communicates to all the other ECUs. A simpleish description/explanation is in this article:

First Service MG5
Just been in to Pinkstones of Stoke for its 1st Service. Booking in went smoothly. Discussed with them the perforation warranty check which they agreed to do. 45 mins later the car was returned, complete with invoice, Mg assistance card provided and informed that service record has been marked...

MG5 recall?
I've got first year service on Monday for facelift 5. Garage called up to confirm appointment this morning and mentioned they would be sorting the recall too. I asked what that was as wasn't aware there was one and they didn't seem to sure but assumed it was a software update. Anyone know anything?

Recovered to dealer - System fault.
I've been seeing slower charging on Rapid chargers this last few weeks. I put it down to the freezing weather (and it possibly is partly) but today I had a rapid charger error out on me, one that normally works fine. I put it down to a fault on the charger and went on my way, I was localish and...

MG5 Mystery Faults
So just got an update from the garage, they are saying that changing the VCU should have solved the "Going into Limp mode" problem but the check HV battery message is still popping up and they have a case open from MG. Apparently a software update is being developed to address the check HV...
