There has been a lot of talk about the "Bad BMS" update. I picked my ZS EV up in October 2020. Everything seems to be OK> I think it was programmed before the bad BMS. What is the advantage of the new BMS? Bearing in mind it will be quite costly to take the car to an MG Dealer (Ferry costs etc.)

Nothing to be concerned about, if it’s working leave it alone until to have your first service and get the updates applied then, upper and lower buffer zones (voltage limits) changed to accommodate KERs being more active earlier when fully charged.

That's what I thought. I will probably have mine serviced on the island. A saving of £200 +. We have an excellent EV specialist in Orkney with 13 + years experience.

Know thst you can get your car serviced when you want. I don't think that they will be able to install any software updates, closed system with MG china. Also you won't get your free AA cover or MG teddybear 😀

Think to keep the Guarantee you would need to use genuine MG parts, might be worth doing some research into that, as he would need to source the parts for any service done.
