Never used this park & Ride but I suspect you always need a parking ticket even if you only stay for the free first hour.

I would suggest contacting them if unsure as there is no mention of the hub on that website, but parking at a purpose designed hub just for rapid charging and not using the park and ride IMO would not incur a parking fee, but the AC quite possibly.

Not sure about .....the inclusion of a huge hybrid battery to "take advantage of the abundance of green energy on the grid at night"...

Drove over tonight, all the chargers appear to be in and working, the first hour parking is free but you need to get a ticket from the machine.
The fastned chargers are limited to 45mins in any case.

Fastned, the European EV rapid charging company, has initially installed ten charging bays at the Superhub with 300 kW of power available, capable of adding 300 miles of range in just 20 minutes for hundreds of EVs per day. Wenea, one of the largest EV charging services providers in Europe, has deployed twenty 7-22 kW charging bays. A further twelve 250 kW Tesla Superchargers will be available for Tesla owners.
