Picked up my new XPOWER today,

Everything seems well, however, I had some initial trouble with the App.

Not sure why it wasn’t loading the QR code, I decided to hotspot my phones WiFi to the car,

After I accepted the privacy policy which loaded up straight away, I scanned the QR code on the app.

It sent across the profile picture & name, is definitely logged in however there’s zero connection to the car.

Tried to see the battery level in the app, won’t load.

Tried to activate digital key, just says Bluetooth disconnected & won’t activate.

Tried deleting app & signing out on the car several times. No luck.

Then when I turned off the phones WiFi hotspot to the car,

Even though there’s Full Signal with 4G data in the car, it just doesn’t load anything - for example with the WiFi hotspot, weather data loads instantly.

But on the Cars 4G Data, nothing. Just blank & tries to get data which eventually says error no connection.

Anyone have any similar issues with the app and mobile data?

I presume the power software is similar to the Trophy's. If so, have you checked the Infotainment settings? If not, swipe the Home screen right and choose 'Settings'. Go through these to establish a bluetooth connection and sign the Privacy statement. My Guide may help you. MG4 Trophy - a Guide

Yes I did all of this,

I had to use my phones Hotspot to sign the privacy policy, but I had the phone connected to Bluetooth as well.

Phone calls were working.

Everything works when HotSpot is on.

Just that,

The 4G data doesn’t work.

None of the Apps functions work.

I am correctly logged in because the App logged into the Car and the car shows my personalised profile (nickname & profile picture).

I know this isn't helpful, but didn't your dealer do all this for you?

No, I got given the keys and asked if I was ok to drive away, having spent a lot of time & research, I was fairly comfortable to do the initial set up, get CarPlay set up and set off home.

It was only when I got home that I discovered the 4G Data wasn’t working and the App.

When I called I told asked to wait till Monday and book in with service.

But I’m hoping perhaps there’s a fix other than having to book it in after the first day.

I'd like to seek some clarification. Your car will link to a WiFi router (like any phone) and will also act as a Hotspot (router) allowing your phone to access the Internet through it. I presume your phone is acting as a hot-spot for the car, because the car's 4G isn't working, since the car's hot-spot won't work for the same reason?

It might not be the car, the app or your phone that's the problem, it could be with MG's servers. I know I couldn't connect to my car yesterday afternoon but had no problem later in the evening.

Yes, exactly.

It wont load anything, for example weather data.

When I hotspot my phone to the car, it works immediately.

The App is set up and logged in both on my phone and in the car, however theres no functionality, such as it cant refresh status of the car, I cant see charge levels, i cant activate the digital key (says bluetooth disabled even though its on in the car & on in my phone)

Yes, this could be it, I'm going for some shopping soon so will see this morning.

I had issues on the day of my pick up with the QR code not appearing. I went to sleep got in the car the next morning and it was there. /shrug

Yes I got the QR code to show by hotspotting my phone to the car,

I mean when I say its brand new, it arrived Friday evening and I picked it up the next morning yesterday :D - so I was wondering if anyone else has had this.

Yes,

Full Bars with 4G
Then I would have thought that 4G works. Don't connect iSmart. Turn the car's WiFi Hotspot on and the WiFi off, which should result in the car using 4G. Try connecting your phone, using the password in settings and turn off your phone's data. Check if your phone connects to the Internet to see if the car's connection over 4G is working.

That's a go shout, I'll give this a go to,

I did have full bars and 4G showing but nothing at all was working and the App couldnt register any info from the car, heres hoping today it will work.

Because of the problems you had yesterday, it may be worth rechecking the Privacy notices are set correctly in the car's settings.

You might have found them already but the Jerry Pan tutorial videos are quite comprehensive and might help you find a way around the issues you are having, this is the iSmart connection video

Also may be best to link everything from scratch in an area with excellent mobile signal if you’ve not tried this already.
