I'm failing to see how the running cost of connecting you to the grid has effectively doubled. Smells like a cash grab.

Still, look on the bright side - Johnson and Gove said in 2016 that if we voted for Brexit, VAT on gas and electricity would be scrapped. So that should help.

Here's the simplified quote for the gas and electric on a 3 year contract. If you pick 1 or 2 year it's even higher. The other supplier with 70p standing charge quote 30p/kWh.
Were using 74MW a year approximately.
Which is mostly led lighting.

i can understand how gas and oil affect our energy costs but the oil and energy companies are really taking the mick! My local petrol station put up fuel by 5 p a litre on the day Russia invaded Ukraine, the petrol in their tanks was there the day before so they can’t have increased costs, just more profit. It makes windfall tax a lot more likely. I do hope the Watchdog actually examines each electricity and gas supply price rise carefully to judge its validity as I expect a lot of us will be entitled to refunds when it is proven we are being duped by big business. It feels like they just think of a number and double it!

I am paying almost 32p per KW hr but I have 5 hours overnight at 7.5 p for charging etc. I guess it’s the going rate but I have huge issues with the financial management of our own oil and gas resources, they have abused to line the pockets of energy companies and their shareholders for over 30 years with no where near enough re investment to avoid the pain we are paying for now. Windfall tax on them all please, proceeds distributed equally to every uk tax payer.

They are all at it !.
Super markets increasing the price of items by between 30 & 50% overnight.
They have massive buying power and no doubt have massive stock in the ware house.
But increase the prices regardless.
Total profiteering.

Local petrol station put prices up to 162 diesel then later that same day 165. No way had it had 2 deliveries in same day. Deffinatly just profit chasing.

The online comparison sites cant get me any lower tarrifs than my current standard with ovo.
I charge at work for free, have 50 to choose from. They definitely had good intentions to future proof the carpark. Hoping i can ride that free pass for as long as i can.
