My MGS5 should arrive on Friday - please could you let me know what cables/chargers come as standard with the Trophy model?
Thanks i advance,
Ian

You get a MG Type2 -> Type2 charging cable only AFAIK - no granny charger anymore.

Ask your dealer, I got nothing in terms of charging cables. I guess it may depend on the deal you drove.
Having said that I had everything I needed and thanks to the advice on here I kept my granny charger from my ZS, and thank heavens I did, I have used it a lot this week.

Baffles me, how they can supply a new EV,
without no cables whatsoever. 🤔 That's Shocking (pardon the pun) 🙄 imo.
But it's up to you to negotiate cables when you buy the car, and before you sign.
I'm quite confident you would get both cables, type 2 and a granny, worth a couple of hundred quid. Before they'd lose a sale worth Thousands. 🙂👍

Thanks to all... I'm coming from an MG5, so have a type 2 cable and granny charger from that. If the new one doesn't come with a granny charger then I'll hold onto the old one.

Then keep your granny at home, they are not supplied as standard anymore, you can always drop it back in if they being kind to you.

I got nothing with mine.

I’ve used the type 2 cable that came with my last car maybe 4 or 5 times in 3 years, so not sure if I should buy one or not for my S5

Got a Type 2 with the MGS5 - Dealer said they could swap for a Granny if wanted at the time of signing the deal, couldn't have both unless buying...
Kept the Granny from the MG4 that I traded in (and the additional Type 2 that I purchased) so now have a choice living under the raised boot floor, and a spare T2

Cables are part of the chargers. There is no need to carry a useless cable around in the frunk. The one exception I can see is the optional cable that supplies 220V AC outlets. This is really useful for powering most anything from the home while away from the grid. Perfect for the blender and Margueritas 😎

Not sure how it is in Thailand, but in the UK Fast chargers (Type 2) are often untethered, ie no cable, as are destination chargers (hotels, bnbs, etc...) so some people carry them regularly.

That said, I have never used mine, except once to prove it works.

I have never seen a retail charger without a big hefty cable. Even the free MG 7kW charger includes a fairly large cable.
I am pretty impressed with the quantity and distribution of retail chargers across Thailand. One could easily tour the entire county knowing a charger is within reach.
