Cancelling "Rain Sensor" wiper blades.

The "rain sensor" wiper blades on my ZS EV Exclusive are driving me mad - they never wipe at the frequency required. My last car (Range Rover) had the same but the service people were able to cancel them easily so I could choose using the intermittent wipe setting. MG have said this cannot be done with the ZS EV. Can this be correct?

I think that is correct.

I just simply don't use the intermittent wipe position of the lever, so the wipers don't operate automatically.

I try not to use them, they are annoyingly slow - they only seem to trigger just after you needed them to (just before you shout at them!)

I don't call them auto wipers, I call them random wipers.
