Thank you everyone for your encouragement, well wishes and advice. My aim was simply to kick off a conversation on this seemingly taboo subject and it appears I have done just that. So many of us on here have gone through my situation somewhat silently, I feel it's worthwhile being open about it to get us all talking to each other and being supportive

Sweet examination

Where they shuffle the poo

They check it and test it
And shake it about
To make sure it’s healthy
With proper poop clout
Then they clump it together
In one great big pile
To grow lovely roses

I wish to complain about the excessive use of inyourendo being used here.

I have also had scans and checks for potential testicular cancer and the same for bladder and UTI problems.

A good few years ago when I worked offshore in the oil and gas industry, I was contracted to a Norwegian rig in the Brage oil field. The Norwegian's have a very tight policy on drink, drugs and general medical fitness, as such, I had to attend a medical in Norway before being allowed onto the rig. I was summoned into the nurses consulting room where she did all of the usual blood pressure, eyesight etc and then she said she needed a urine sample (for drugs testing). She passed me the container and I waited for her to say, behind the screen or go down the corridor, nope 'I have to witness your urine sample, I had to pee in front of her. Then she said she needed to do a DRE which took me by surprise however, i complied. When I stood up to pull my pants and trousers up she said 'Do you examine yourself?' I said vaguely I suppose i do from time to time. 'Would you like me to check' I thought, why not, a medical professional assessment. She had me standing there, legs slightly apart and I was nearly sick with the pain that followed, she did however say I was fine, nothing to worry about and cleared me to go on the rig.
I told my mates outside some of what happened, they both accepted the offer and the agony hehe.

I was 19. It was December 1985, BTW.

In December 1985 I was 34!

But, to follow the message of this thread, I have received, completed and returned the "poo" test kits every time, thankfully always without requiring any subsequent follow-up. And all PSA test have proved negative.

I am always very grateful for the health I still have!

Having ruffled a few feathers in another thread when I described us as a bunch of geriatrics, it did leave me with the distinct feeling that we don't seem to have many younger members. I may be wrong of course but I thought I'd do a poll to see what the age profile was.

Having ruffled a few feathers in another thread when I described us as a bunch of geriatrics, it did leave me with the distinct feeling that we don't seem to have many younger members. I may be wrong of course but I thought I'd do a poll to see what the age profile was.
