We should not forget that the assistant in the petrol station/supermarket/other shop is not paid enough to care whether the equipment works and it's not really fair to expect them to.
Reminds of the days when corporate smells were considered, supermarkets would lure you in with the smell of freshly baked bread or roasted coffee and Dixons would be hopeless farts.The guy in Currys doesn't even know enough to advise me on which TV to buy!
That explains the staff attitude then.After a bit of digging it appears the petrol station is often part of Shell's Retailer Programme where individuals can operate a fully operational Shell service station as self-employed retailers. These retailers earn commission on fuel sales and revenue from the retail store and car wash, but they don't pay a franchise fee.
The EV chargers are not included in the programme and are run by Shell Recharge
