When it is cold and the car is frozen in the morning the App will not connect to allow me to start the defrost. Is anybody else having this problem?

Connected but really didn’t do much to defrost compared to what my previous Kona would have done. Having run for 10 minutes it wouldn’t let me do it again due to ‘too frequent requests, unable to execute for car safety. Start car to reset’. I would have done that if the door would have opened but it was frozen solid! Good job I didn’t have to use it this morning. Never had a car door freeze shut before even my Jaguar X series opened and started first time at -16, it was only -1.

Not been colder than -7C here thus far this winter but app has been working for me with defrost and seat warmers. Mine is parked in a car port but the warm air removes the ice that forms on the windshield, and the interior is rather toasty after about 5mins.

Im curious to see how well it works when it gets colder, we get around -20-30C some periods here.

Did you defrost by using the Front window icon or climate icon? The Front window icon turns the heat up to high.

To stop the doors freezing shut rub all the rubber seals with GummiPflege. Also spray the door buttons and locks including the charging cover with silicone.

Frozen doors are a regular thing here on Merseyside, depends on wind chill and if the rubber gasket was wet beforehand

Mine is useless really. Its fine for a few hours and then will go to "sleep" and then no chance of reconnecting to it. Only way to wake it up is to go out to it and sit in the seat. I noticed the screen fires up and the mobile signal has zero bars for about 20 seconds and then goes to a strong signal. Its like the mobile sim just goes to sleep entirely so there is no way to connect to it.

When we first got the car a month ago unlocking the doors made no difference but opening and closing the boot would wake it up. That won't work now. No Idea why some seem to have no issues but others seem to have nothing but issues.

So far very unimpressive with the tech in the MG. Compared to my five year old Skoda Kodiaq its light years behind. All the same features like auto head lights, lane management etc but they are all pretty useless in the MG but work flawlessly in the Skoda. Adaptive cruise control isn't as good either. It hangs back miles from the car in front and more than a few times I have had to take over and slam on when traffic slows.

Perhaps you should go back to Skoda if its that bad or maybe you just need to get used to the feel of it, can take time to settle into the quirky MG ways

Its not that bad. There is plenty about the car I like but the tech is poor compared to other cars. There isn't anything quirky about it. Its just poor implementations of features other manufactures do better. You seem offended :D

We still have the Skoda - its a very different car for very different purposes.

I am on a three year lease. I can't just send it back lol.
