Car beeping when locking the car?!

Hey people, new to the MG (and EV) world.

Sorry if anyone's posted this before but, a major niggle for me is the car beep-beeping at me when I'm parked, out of the vehicle and trying to lock the car!

Always get a turn of heads from whoever is walking past. Does anyone know a way to turn off this ridiculous feature?

Check all your doors, boot and bonnet are securely closed. Make sure the car is turned off. Make sure you have not left another set of keys in the car, though it will lock from the second key just not the button on the door handle in that case.

Is it the 'find my car' function being activated? On the MG5 there's a setting for that on the centre display that allows you to have it just flash the lights instead.

Gen1 or Gen 2 ????.
It helps to know, because it could be a different answer for each model type ?.
Example :- Does beep once or twice ?.

It was the boot not being fully closed, you need to be firm with it!

i have had it a few times, check the doors and boot, make sure the car is turned off. Has it already locked itself and you are locking it again?

Hi, it's a ZS EV gen 1. It beeps twice

I will watch for the beeps with all the doors and boot firmly shut and see. Thanks for the suggestions, all

As a newbie, I experienced this today (Day 2 of my ownership). Couldn’t work it out, until I read this thread. My wife is now on the naughty step, having taken her bag with the the second key in it from the car?
