Car in gear

Has anyone had this issue. When car is stationary in gear with the handbrake on. After about 10 seconds. The handbrake releases and the car moves off

Nope, visit to the garage to fix I think, would you not be better using auto hold iinstead of hand brake?

It is not normal to be in gear with the handbrake on.
When you stop, push P for park and the handbrake will engage, but the car will be in Neutral.
Thus activating the handbrake whilst in gear is abnormal.

Do you mean that the parking brake automatically releases when you press the accelerator pedal?
If so, this is normal.

He seems to be indicating that after 10 sec the brake releases by itself, ie with no accelerator input.
