It's crazy that we're even talking about such figures really, a mere 5 years ago these numbers were in relation to £150k cars, not 'everyday' family cars.

Well, that's the US artificially quicker 0-60 time with rollout subtracted.

The IM5 is also a 0-62 time - but I haven't seen anywhere whether that is a rollout time or not. Normally in the UK we do not use rollout.

There're not quite as fast as that from a standing start but they are very quick. Performance model Tesla's put the power down very smoothly, it's less frenetic than the MG and feels more controllable. The MG is more fun though, because it's almost twitchy in comparison.

I’m skeptical about 2.9 tesla has been known for fudging there o-60 besides 3.1 sounds more reasonable as 62mph is 100kmh add another .3 seconds to get the true o- 62 mph..

Even with the 3.1 time the mg im5 is still cheaper I think

The IM 5 is considerably cheaper and bigger and heavier, it's a shame Tesla ruined their brand for a lot of people.

To get the proven range and efficiency they get out the relatively small batteries there cars have (compared to theirs) shows how good there package is.

The recent upgraded SR is now a 64 LFP battery and on paper getting about 344 miles and about 300 in the real world. That's pretty hard to beat
