Changing to Mainland Europe Spec

I live in Spain but have bought my last two cars in the UK because of the value for money. It's a bit of a palaver with headlights/reversing lights/fog lights/MPH to KMH but not an insurmountable problem. My question is - will this be easy to do with an MG4? I have looked at many different makes and models and the MG4 comes out top of my list.

Surely if you bought your car in the UK, it's right hand drive? LHD would be much more suitable in Spain and also far easier to sell on in the future. I've found LHD much more natural to drive than RHD.

In The Netherlands LHD was more natural to drive on the right hand side of the road. Now that I've migrated to Australia, RHD feels more natural, it's all about the layout of the road, obviously.

On the MG4 the fog light is in the middle of the car anyway, so no need to move that. Not sure if you can switch MPH and KPH in the settings (never had to change it for myself). I guess it would only be headlights, but again not sure LHD has different headlight units, or if it's just some adjustments one can make.

Well, being right handed (as are the vast majority of people), a manual car is more natural in LHD format and so is an auto as the drive controls are on the right and so are many of the other controls. It also explains whu most of the world drives on the right with LHD vehicles.

Makes more sense to have your dominant hand on the steering wheel, thankfully people can just adjust to circumstance.

and to answer the question - the MG4 Trophy (Luxury) model as 'flat' beam headlights, so they are identical whether LHD or RHD. Indcators etc., all the smae.

Changing from MPH to KMH is just a setting on the infotainment screen. So apart from the steering wheel etc. being on the 'wrong' side of the car it's not a problem

Many people drive RHD cars here in Spain. It's just the lights that have to comply.

But he lives in Cyprus. So presumably his car is RHD. Anyway does it matter, whatever suits the individual.

My car is RHD because driving is on the left here. However, I've also lived in Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Germany and Austria where I had LHD cars which are what most countries in the world use and most of the drivers in the world are right handed.

Well, not really... Most of the world's population lives in countries that drive on the left (though many of these countries have relatively low motor vehicle ownership, so both of these things could be true )

About 65% of countries drive on the right side of the road and 35% drive on the correct side of the road

Ultimately it comes down to what you are used to but you don’t need precise movements to change gear, so it makes far more sense to be steering with your right arm since most people are right dominant. Oncoming traffic is on the right and most people are also right eye dominant.

The only advantage to driving with your left hand is you now have your right hand free to mess around with touchscreens for all the controls that should be physical buttons and switches. That’s probably far easier to be fair!

I have never found driving on the right to be particularly difficult, in a right-hand-drive car. When I was in America and drove a friend's left-hand drive car I was a little apprehensive, but it was an automatic, and an absolute breeze.
