Breezy here today. Just plugged in car, and noticed that the flap repeatedly blows open and back onto charging cable.
I have wrapped the flap in cloth and used an elastic band to fix it to the plug socket cover.

Any better suggestions?
I realise it is designed like an air brake, but should there be a catch to hold the flap open?

Doesn't it have a little hook on the inside of the flap?

If you put the elastic band round the plug first, then wrap it round the hook, it should hold, it's not ideal, but I've just tried it on mine and it seems ok.

Also, you could tie the rubber band to the hook permanently, so it's always there when you need to charge, then simply slip the charging plug through the rubber band before you plug it into the car.

Thank you for the suggestion.
A hook, a clip, and a drain hole? No clue how or why these might be used, but your suggestion seems a good one, thanks

On the MG 4 it feels like it's sprung loaded, and sits far more horizontal compared to the almost vertical flap on the IM5.
When I'm charging I tuck the protective rubber cap of the type 2 cable into the hinged side of the port (LHS) and just close the flap until it meets the rubber handle of the plugged in type 2. I dont like to leave the flap like a flag sticking out from the side of the car and also means that if you put the protective cap opening downwards it remains dry.
Maybe the IM5 has much less spring action.
