Check charge without unlocking

How can I check the charging progress outside of the car without unlocking it whilst having the keys in my pocket?

If I press the door handle button the car unlocks. If I leave the keys in the house and press the same button the dash simply lights up with the charging percentage.

I was wondering how to do this as well. On my Excite I have to physically open the driver's door to see the charging status.

If you pop your keys on the rear windscreen wiper it's far enough to not unlock and therefore show you a percentage. That's the closest you're gunna get other than leaving the keys in your house

"Charging progress" is the same as percentage isn't it ?
