My Urban Comfort came with a steering wheel wrapped in genuine plastic, and it's rather comfortable, surprisingly so!
When i test drove the Premium, i really liked the feel of the steering wheel, wrapped in fake nappa leather, similar to the RWD MG4. and i assumed that the Comfort came with it too.
Then i read the small print after signing on the dotted line and i must admit i panicked a little because the last car i drove with a standard plastic wheel was a 16 years old Skoda Fabia. And that wheel was not a good look, nor feel!
I browsed the net for steering wheel leather wraps and i found and bought one.
But, 200+ miles in, i actually quite like this wheel. It feels warmer than leather to the touch, and it feels less slippery when it's a bit warm from the sun shining on it.
The leather wrap i ordered is custom made for the mg4 urban wheel and it has alcantara at the 3 and 9 o clock position, and nappa fake leather top and bottom. Ordered with grey stitching thread which i'm already practicing on a cheaper piece of leather.
It will feel warmer in winter and cooler in summer and more comfortable on longer drives, but...
im starting to think that maybe just maybe i should not wrap the standard wheel!
