Hi everyone.
I have a FL MG5 Trophy and I am really struggling with windows fogging up. The worst culprit is the drivers side windows. Which can only be cleared by having the heating on windscreen selected. I usually drive in exo mode. Do the vents need to be in a specific location. Or is this just one of the drawbacks of driving an ev.

Thanks

Pretty much every EV suffers from this, both MG5s I drove, my own MGS5, work's Nissan Ariya and MG4, they all mist up. If it's not too cold out I open a rear window a bit and that seems to clear it, otherwise it's the demister on and off to keep it clear.

It is not really an EV issue. Make sure the A/C is on (it helps remove moisture) and avoid recirculation if the windows are fogging.

Using windscreen plus side vents usually clears the driver’s window quicker than screen-only. Also check for damp mats or moisture inside the car, as that can make it worse.

I wouldn't drive in ECO mode unless you really need to. One of the things it does is cut down the fan speed. You need the AC on to keep the windows clear. Even then, If you have a car full of people on a damp day you will need to put the screen demister on occasionally. Fortunately it has its own dedicated button.

Check that your HVAC settings are NOT set to “recirc” mode !.
Otherwise, your car will miss up almost straight away.

I have always had the HVAC system on Auto set to a comfortable temperature. Believe it or not that temperature is comfortable in winter and also in summer. The car does it's thing and either warms me or cools me or does absolutely nothing at all. Never had misting that couldn't be cleared with a few seconds burst of the demister when first getting in if needed.
I did not buy a car to sit in the cold in winter or roast in the summer. The AC costs virtually nothing to have on permanently.

Not just a car thing either my DAF XG 2022 truck does it if you're stopped in traffic
Also my MG5 and Skoda Enyaq do as well
