I've recently bought a 2025 MG ZS EV.
It's ex display with about 100 miles on the clock. It was first regged in march and has spent its life up to now on a forecourt.
It drives lovely, but there's a couple of location based problems that I cannot work out how to remedy.
I'll first describe the problems and note the solutions I've tried:
Physical car issues
I get notified each time the car is turned on that the emergency call system is offline. The button itself is sometimes red and sometimes green. There doesn't seem to be anything in the system to change the emergency number, and outside of annually pushing the button (which I'm loathe to do unless it's actually an emergency) I don't know how to check if it's working or is actually offline.
SATNav doesn't track progress when driving or using directions.
- I've tried turning dead reckoning on and off to no avail.
The connection between the car and the iSmart app is also not working.
ISmart app issues
There seems to be a multitude of issues in the app:
And most curiously and amusingly
- iSmart claims the car is in the wrong location. I'm located in Wiltshire. According to the app, the car was in frimley from Monday to Thursday. This morning at just past half 12 (precisely 00:32:32), the location of the car updated in the app, this time to Weymouth, next to the beach. All this time the car has either been on my drive or in work car park on charge. The app still thinks it's at the beach now.
In terms of solutions for the app, I've bound/binded,/inbound, whatever, no success.
I've tried to check for updates to the car software but the car itself claims to be up to date.
I've looked into doing a factory reset, would that be likely to remedy these issues?

There seems to be a multitude of issues in the app:
- Doesn't connect to the car, claiming it's asleep, even when the car is on and running
- Has incorrect mileage of 4895, the car has only done 200 on the ODO
- battery and range readout is wrong
- none of the remote features (car scan, unlock, air con etc) work from the app
