Hi,
a friend of mine has an ZS-EV EU (MY22/23?) and has issues with the App connectivity.
So after a few days the Car will not react to the commands send from the App.
It only cures itself when driving for a longer periode of time.

For my MG4 there where updates (Infotainment + TBOX) available and i never experienced connection issues again.

The Dealer tried something like unbind/bind, will help only for a few days but is not a permanent fix.
He said no updates are available and i'm quite sure that this is not true.
Car is running R25 and Tbox 11 Version.. don't have the whole SW name available right now.

Can someone here post their SW Version of the car and if you have issues with the App connection?
Not quite sure if the UK Version has the same number sceme.

In additon is there also a LKA update available (SC077) like the MG4 received?
Thanks..

I understand, but I thought maybe this should be possible to be fixed as other models are working as expected.
I assume the platform is abandoned, dead and no further fixes will be provided..
But please if you have some infosl about your installed SW Version do post these for comparison.

They do this "Go to deep sleep" because in the beginning (And of your car does not have recent software) it will only charge the 12V battery when the car is on and in READY state.

Since the whole car infotainment and all other modules run off of the 12V battery it is shutting down to prevent the 12V battery draining.

On later firmware version it seems the car will wake up and charge the 12V battery i it gets below a certain level.....But the deep sleep has not been removed.

I dont think you should expect any updates to the software except if they find some serious problem or something that requires a recall to fix.

Hi Deepblue,
My car has had a complete software suite update after I had MG app connectivity issues. The connectivity issues arose after some warranty work was carried out. Someone accidentally disconnected the 12v battery whilst the car was in it's 'Ready' state. That's like shutting down your Windows computer by pulling out the plug from the wall socket. It caused some software corruption. Myself, dealer & MG customer support tried all sorts to correct the problem but to no avail.

In the end the only solution was to upgrade the telematics software that runs the cars main computer from R25 to R27. Once this had been carried out the car was able to see upgrades for all 6 other computer modules in the car. The technician duly downloaded & installed these additional upgrades. After that all connectivity issues were cured. Everything works great now.

If your dealer tells you there are no other updates for your car when it's running R25 inform him he can upgrade you to R27 & loads of other updates will immediately become available. These should cure your issues. My car also wakes up & charges it's 12v battery when it's needed.

Ours is on R25 and wakes up, so i don't think the version of software in the infotainment system is what makes the car wake up and top up the battery.

I confirmed this while we were on holiday, the ZS EV was stationary in the driveway and after about 6 days i could see the battery voltage was suddenly up.

Still, a day or 2 after it went into deep sleep and we were unable to communicate with it before we got home and had it put in READY mode.

PS. My ZS EV is integrated into Home Assistant and it reads they battery voltage along with other parameters of the car at regular intervals.

After it went into deep sleep mode Home Assistant was also unable to speak to the car.

I think it is great, them updating the software to support the car charging the 12V battery when it gets low, but somehow they seemed to forget to remove the "Go to deep sleep" function, at the same time.

Yes my car already charged it's 12v battery prior to the software updates. That has been the case for all MG's for the last two to three years I believe.

Going to deep sleep is to allow the car to minimise power output from all sources. After a set period of inactivity the car believes you are not going to use it for a while & goes into hibernation to conserve energy. That's all apparently. Most EV's do this but might have slightly different parameters to do so.

Have you tried charging your ZS at a Tesla charger yet hmadsen?
