Software Updates ZS EV

When i bought ours i made a service contract with them, i pay a monthly fee and this then covers the yearly service including all the materials needed to do, what is mentioned in the service book.

They also said it would include updating the software, i of course assumed that would mean, they hook it up to their computer every time and make sure all modules were fully updated, but to be honest, reading these threads i am beginning to wonder if it does not just mean "we will update whatever MG says is "critical" and not every other module, where updates are marked as not that critical". Especially if some updates only become available of other updates have been made.

I think i am going to stick my OBD dongle on the car before giving it to them to do service and do a readout of all software versions currently there, this way i can see what they updated.

Not that it will do me any good as i don't really know what software versions are available, but at least it would give an indication on whether they did any software updates, if i got it back and every software version were the same as before i gave it to them.

The dealer will tend to use the VIN number of the car, to check on the system to see if any updates are available for your vehicle,
If not, then I believe they do not find it necessary to connect to the car via the diagnostic computer.
If you requested a traction battery SOH and a screen shot of that result, then of course they need to integrate the battery to find this out, if you get my meaning here.
