Cover of the fuse box in the engine compartment

Hi,
how do i remove the fuse cover in the engine compartment? I've loosened the three clips, but I just can't get the cover off. I can't get the lid off, either upwards or to the sides.
Is there a trick to it?

Not sure if pg 336 will help. It mentions pressing down on a lock

Thanks, I've already read the instructions, of course I've opened the three clips, and the cover is loose, but it won't come off either upwards or sideways. I can move it a little, but then the front apron panel gets in the way. It won't come off to the side either, because there's a control unit there.

I've just had a play with mine and I can see the problem. It looks as though you have to release 3 or 4 of the quick release screws to provide enough flex in the plastic apron panel to provide enough clearance to lift off the fuse box cover.
Good luck seeing clearly the fuses under the apron cover!

That's what I thought at first, but it's not the plastic apron that's causing the problem; directly underneath it is the metal apron, and that's what the lid is hitting. I'll try it anyway, but I don't think it's the plastic.

Today was the handover of my new HS PEHV. I asked the workshop foreman how to jump-start the vehicle in an emergency and asked him to remove the cover from the front fuse box. But even he couldn't do it. He even removed the upper plastic part, but without success. So, in an emergency, if the on-board battery is flat, you can't access the contacts to jump-start the vehicle. Could you use the 12V socket to supply power in an emergency so that you can start the car?

Your right there is a metal apron underneath the plastic one. Not sure how they expect anyone to change a fuse if one should blow !

Don't know about fuse boxes, but the battery in our month old PHEV is in the boot.

@Amun , Yes, as with all of us... And what are you trying to tell us with that??? Ever wondered how to access the battery when the tailgate won't open? For cases like this, there is a special bypass contact in the fuse box in the engine compartment. Now you understand ?

Why not try RTFM ing?

Tailgate Emergency Open
Tailgate emergency open switch is located in the inner side
of tailgate lock.
Lower the rear seat to make sure the emergency open
lockhole plug on the tailgate trim panel can be touched.
Take up the plug with hand, and rotate the emergency open
knob counterclockwise with a proper tool to open the
tailgate from inside.
