Ive had an OBD connection with my previous dishpan in the MG4 Xpower for thick end of 2 years before fitting it to the S6, so easy to install, but its been the first time Ive had a permanent live rather than a switched so I had reservations but don't have now, just works,
Out of curiosity, how did you run the cable up to the camera? Was it much of an embuggerance to get it properly hidden?

What I did was probably similar to Giller. The cable run is completely hidden up to the camera. You don’t need to remove any panel from the fuse box.

Don’t start your cable run from the camera end as I made this mistake as you will end up with the OBD port plug too big to feed through some of the holes.

First I removed the rubber door seal from the top of the A pillar down to roughly the fuse box access panel. Feed the USB end of the cable from the frunk release pull through some holes behind the panel to the door (see photo). Then just run the cable upwards along the door frame behind the panel up through the A pillar. Once the cable is up to the A pillar you can then hide the cable behind the head lining and all the way along the top past the rearview mirror. Put the door rubber seal back in place.

You will have a lot of excess cable at the OBD end. Undo the 2 small screws at the footwell that holds the footwell ambient lighting panel. Drop the panel down and hide the cable in there tidily and plug in the OBD port. Re-install the panel and you should be good to go.
