Anyone had an experience of both side mirrors no longer closing? If so would you expect them to be covered by the warranty?

Not had this problem. Generally yes I would expect the warranty to cover this depending on age of the car. However, the 7yr warranty like many warranties is a depreciating one, meaning it covers less & less components as the car ages. So you need to check the cars manual to confirm if this is covered. It potentially could also just be a software issue. You haven't mentioned exactly how they stopped working ie: one at a time of both at the same time. It could also just be a fuse.

7 year warranty is only for the battery and the drivetrain and only up to a certain mileage.

The rest is a lot less, if they class the mirrors as electronic parts i think the warrantly, atleast here, is 24 months

I think there is a very slim chance of them being a warranty job, unless your car is less than 2 years old and even then, they might claim they are broken due to external forces.

Yes, it does seem to happen to others, I just use a silicone lubricant spray occasionally. That seems to sort it out for a year or two....
