Ian.
Can you keep us updated on this issue as it has just happened to me yesterday. Everything worked after I restarted the car.
Hi, Yes. I went into my dealer the other week and they did a firmware update on the infotainment system.
There was no information from MG UK as to what they were updating or what it might/should do!
This is standard practice by the way within the car industry! 'Nothing to see here!' type of thing!
I have to say so far it seems to have done the trick. It still forgets the radio station after charging, but it doesn't just stop working, or rather it hasn't done so yet!
Apple Carplay still is very iffy, you are using Waze and then the screen goes off! Really helpful at a difficult junction!
I don't think an incoming text causes problems, but I was using CarPlay and Waze and I had two phone calls that never rang!
I NEVER had these problems with my I-Pace, even though the infotainment was not nearly so sophisticated at the start. It was faultless after a few updates, even having no problem with an add on little white box device giving Apple Carplay wirelessly.
On my MG (2022 Facelift Trophy Connect) it works but every so often the car has a hissy fit!
And as I said, cabled it isn't that reliable, especially if the journey is a long one. I wonder if heat is an issue. Before anybody questions the cable it is like this on every cable, genuine Apple or not. The same issues are to be had on another iPhone, so not the phone! Only thing left is the car!
In summary, the radio seems to be more reliable, not perfect though but a lot better than it was. It still has difficulty joining a new MUX. It will keep you happily listening to Radio 2 when you leave Hampshire and go into Surrey say. But once in Surrey it will have difficulty finding Radio 4 should you wish to listen to that station! It will get there but takes an age!
