Dash CAM install powered from Radar/Camera Box

I have recently found a dash Camera Kit for the MG ZS EV which neatly powers directly from the radar/camera box on the windscreen, just where the mirror is:

There are not many instructions on how to do it, but basically, you remove the plastic box with a plastic tool ( it has a few clips around), easy to do, then take the box away and replace with new one.
Additionally, you will need to take out the plastic box on the ceiling were the lights and buttons are ( there is a video on YouTube on how to do this - a bit tricky, if you ask me) and connect a cable ( provided) that will power both the dashcam and the ceiling lights
I haven't done it, yet , as I'm waiting for the camera to arrive and then will update this Post

Yes please, share installation phots, that looks cool ! So the camera is inside the new plastic cover that swaps with teh original? is this for Mk1 or Mk2 ZS?

Just installed the camera, and will share some photos
Also want to comment on some of the issues I had:

• is a bit tricky to pass the cable from the camera to the lights module. You may have to completely take off the whole box where the lights are to be able to see and pick up the cable through
• the plastic cover did not snap into place (loose), I'm not sure if the problem is the clearance is not quite right. This is VERY annoying as without the clips, the cover just falls down. I manage to figure out a workaround with two very small black screws on one side - with some glue below. Is not too bad, but is a real pity

Regarding the camera these are my points:
- Quality of the picture seems good, however...
You can only access the app ( which is not very good) via wifi, so not only you have to open the app, but switch wifi SSIDs. You can still use the micro SD if you want the data, though
This method of connection - via switch module- is not always on, so forget about monitoring the car when is parked, also you cannot access the camera unless the car is turned on

All in all, relatively happy to have a dash camera that looks good and no cables lying around!

My hope is that after the glue dries I would be able take off the screws...

I got exactly the same kit for my MK2 (it is the same for both by the way, hence why you have a USB port opening on the side). It works great and I also got the rear camera for it. Installation was a bit tricky as you said but I love the install and forget about it. It looks oem and you would probably not even notice it if it is not pointed out Had mine for about 3 months and every so often i check it via the direct wifi but if needed i just pull out the sd card and copy across the footage to my PC for archiving.

that sounds good, could you please share what rear camera comes with it (or you bought it separately?) and how do you connect the two.

What are map lights ? does it plug into usb available on the side ?
