Hello everyone.
I'm new here so I hope what I'm posting hasn't already been dealt with. I have an MG Trophy SV and in the main, I'm happy with it. But there are a few minor things that I wonder if any of you can advise me on.
1. Whenever I start the car the radio comes on. I'd like to be able to turn it on myself when I want to. Is there a way to do this ?
2. When 2 or more people are in the car the front windscreen starts to mist up. I have to press the front demister to clear it. It'll be ok for maybe 10 minutes then I have to do it again. Is there any way to keep the windscreen from misting up which doesn't require use of the demister which reduces my range ?
3. Heating in the car is poor. Even with the temperature set to high and the fan at full speed passengers in the back are cold. Front seat passengers are ok with the seat heaters. Is there any way to direct heat specifically to the rear of the car ?
4. I'd like to be able to set the driving more to ECO by default. But the car defaults to Normal. I know this is a very minor thing and I can flick a switch to change to ECO. But I think I as the driver should be in control of the driving mode default. Is there any way to permanently change the default mode ?
Thanks for any advice.

Well the problem with the car not being able to heat properly and misting up atleast, is probably down to you changing it to eco.

Remember, ECO is just a bunch of settings that use less power, hence the fact that the heater is not allowed to draw as much current.

The power usage in the car is more to do with driving style, than saving a few watts here and there.

The vast majority of power consumed is going to propulsion, you might be saving a couple of KW on a full charge if you set it to ECO, but it's not "night and day"

My recommendation is...Do not set it to ECO in the winter.

And no, there is no way to set it to default to eco, you bought a cheap chinese electric, it is pretty basic when it comes to settings to be honest.

And again..ECO is more a "mindset" than a setting, if you do not stomp the accelerator, it will use the same power an in normal mode, with a light foot.

I have no real complaints but ventilation is quite poor.
To stop misting of the front windscreen make sure car is in normal mode and even switch on the AC.
It will decrease the range but you may as well be comfortable.
The air vents do not divert air up, out and down very well and I think the fan needs to be on at least number 4 to help prevent misting.

The vent will only do 2 direction so make sure you have it switched to up, you can't do out to side and up at the same time.
You can have it up to screen and down to feet but the air does not distribute very well.

lastly make sure it is pulling fresh air in because the recirculation option can make it mist a bit more.

Regarding the misting up of the windscreen, in addition to what has already been said, make sure the heating & ventilation system is set to external air supply. If it is set to 'air recirculation' the windows will constantly mist up in cooler conditions especially if the air con is not on. I would strongly advise to use 'Normal' mode rather than 'Eco'. Eco is really more for situations where you need to extract maximum range in conditions where charging stations may be scarce (in my mind anyway). It's a handy way of assisting you to do that but at a cost of poorer heating & ventilation & reduced power. Our E-Niro is the same as is our Kona.
