Demisting

Has anyone experienced their MG3 Hybrid windscreen frequently misting up? This morning, weather wet and lousy, the screen misted up every few minutes and I had to use the front defrost button, (although I was surprised how cool the air stream was). As soon as traffic allowed, I touched the heating section of the screen and chose the front cab/screen option. This slowed down the frequency of misting, but I still had to use the defrost screen button every ten minutes or so. Is this normal and if so, a very disappointing option.

Yes we have noticed that too , seem to have to need the A/C on most of the time to keep the screen clear and the passenger window too ?‍

My MG4 mists up on the outside a lot, e.g. this morning being very humid, as I had the A/C on low. it stopped when I upped the interior temperature to 22°C.

Sounds strange then, do you have the A/C itself on all the time or do you turn it off and just have the fans blowing without A/C?

We just have the fan blowing without the A/C but it doesn’t take long for the windscreen and side windows to begin misting up. We have tried the various settings for air flow and adjusted the vents but always seem to have to put the A/C back on for a short time to clear the car .

I have also found that without A/C on, and in some weather conditions, the screen mists up badly when I first start out in a morning.

Really the A/C should be left on all of the time in modern cars, as rather than making the air colder, it will take the moisture out of the air, stopping the windows from steaming and misting up, the MPG difference is so minimal.

Not using the A/C can also cause issues further down the line of the gas becoming stagnant as not in use.

Misting on the inside. The heat was only on 24°C with the blower at low speed.

I was ready to argue that keeping the air con on constantly ramps up the fuel use, but I've just read up on the RAC website and they endorse what you say. So thanks for that advice. aitch

I'm making a personal contribution to this problem of fogging inside MG3.

I don't have my MG3 yet but I can tell you about my future ex-Honda Jazz car.
I know about this phenomenon and I asked the Honda workshop manager because I had very foggy interior windows and in winter when it froze the windscreen froze on the inside!

The workshop manager wasn't surprised and advised me to use the air conditioning more in winter to DRY out the cabin, which was too damp.

I applied this method and the phenomenon was virtually eliminated.

Well there is your problem; it will mist up with no A/C on to take the damp air out. When the windows are clear turn fan down to 3 with A/C set to on and they will keep clear at any temperature setting. I do this with my HS PHEV.
