Does anyone think that the MG ‘7 Year warranty’ is misleading?

Personally I don't think the warranty is misleading. It is partial, but I understood that when I bought the car. However, I do think MG and it's dealers administration of the warranty is much less accomodating than other car brands I have bought. This has put me off buying another MG.

Many of the large manufacturers, who offer only a 3 year warranty on their vehicles, still impose restrictions on what is and what is not covered.
Internal trim items only carry a 12 month warranty for sure !.

Going third party for service work will invalidate both the warranty and invalidate the full break down coverage of course.

As long as you use an MG authorised third party garage, the warranty will still be valid. You would have to sort out your own breakdown cover though.

Third parties do not have the necessary MG computer software to apply any updates it should be mentioned ?.

I’ve found Kia’s 7 year warranty to also be full of conditions and restrictions - so MG are not alone. On face value a 7 year warranty looks fantastic, but there is usually some sort of catch - it’s a great selling point as few buyers actually look into the warranty when they purchase.
I’ve found Kia dealership’s EV servicing very expensive and unnecessary - you are effectively paying each year for the warranty indirectly through unnecessary servicing.

With long warranties, you usually find the items likely to wear out first are the ones that are only covered for the first couple of years, and the 7 years refers to items which hardly ever fail.
