It’s a Chinese EV - I think it will be quite far down the list of cars that people want to steal, would be a bit easy for the police in a 5 series diesel chasing a car with a 100 mile range

A Faraday Pouch will be a simple but effective solution.

I was thinking of just keeping the key in some sort of "faraday cage" and then just using the phone as a key. (Not bringing the key at all when driving)

But then the next question arises.

If the "Phone as a key" is just "if the bluetooth device with this MAC address is near, unlock the door and allow startup" then i would guess that this is also "replayable" as it seems trivial to collect and clone a device's Bluetooth MAC, so maybe not any safer than the key replay.
