Does the SE model have heat pump and what does it do?

A heat pump works like your fridge, but in reverse. It sucks heat out of the air outside and pumps it into the cabin. It is 2 to 3 times more efficient than a resistive heater. Not sure if any of the ZS models have it as standard though.

Check the MG site - ZS EV doesn't have a heat pump listed in the specs at any trim level, nor is an add-on option.

As the title says. What is a heat pump and what does it do?
Does the SE model have one?
A heat pump is an air conditioner that can be reversed (so it provides heat instead of cold). Much more efficient way of heating the cabin compared to the current solution (resistive heating, essentially a fan heater) but can cause problems in cold weather climates (which the UK isn't)

The SE model doesn't have one, nor does the trophy or the trophy connect. MG does not offer a heat pump in there UK cars at this time.

The VW group offered a heat pump as an option on their e.Golf.
The cost was about £1,200 to include it, if I remember correctly ?.
So, not a cheap option at all !.

Funny thing is it's a bit of a scam really. The car already has an AC system, and theres not that much difference between an A/C and heat pump (Mainly just a reversing valve and a inverter compressor)

They know that people want that additional range, and they know that people will pay for it.

Just hope you don't have a problem with it though! On the Zoe (don't know about the Tesla) it is serious money :(
Sorry, what is serious money? It’s standard fit on the current model & can’t be supplied without.
