Door mirror replacement…

Hi all,

How much of a faff is it to replace the door mirror assembly? A kind person has punched off the whole mirror assembly, breaking the aluminium casting that form the internals of the hinge.

I shall answer my own question, just for those who might be interested...

Changing the door mirror unit is not hard if the base is intact. Changing the base itself is a major arseache but is not the largest issue here. Getting the parts to do it yourself is the issue; £150 for the mirror assembly (not including painting the cowl if it is needed) is a bit of a sting.

Mine is being done at Apple in a couple of weeks time...
